heartbroken and praying

It breaks my heart to sit down to write this but part of sharing my life and those that are in it are sharing the ups and downs.

Last Wednesday, Kirby went to the doctor for an 18 1/2 week appointment (nearly at the halfway point) at the OB-GYN and they couldn't find the heartbeat of her little baby. She went to see a specialist immediately, and back to the doctor on Thursday to double check what they feared was true--she had a miscarriage, or more technically, a fetal death. Because she was as far along as she was, she had surgery on Friday morning to extract what needed to be removed. We aren't sure right now of what happened or why, just that it happened for a reason and that little Baby Cleland #2 is with the Lord and it's for the best in God's sight. We are all heartbroken and wondering. And understandably so,  Kirby and Daniel are hurting terribly right now. I have never wanted to take on someone else's heartache for them so that they don't have to feel that pain as I do right now for my sister. We live in a broken world and with that comes a physical death; sometimes much, much sooner than we imagined or anticipated or imagined. No matter what, we are in God's hands and He has a perfect plan. I have reminded myself constantly this week, as I have in hard times before, that God is good. Always, without exception.

Please pray with me for Kirby, Daniel, Felicity, and for their little one that they lost. Pray for maybe not all of the answers, but at least for clarity on the situation and alleviated heartache and processing with this "grey area". Pray for healing after Kirby's surgery--both physical and emotional. Thank you for you concern and love for my family during this time. It really means the world to each of us, especially the Clelands.
